About the Blacktip Shark Migration
The blacktip shark migration is a phenomena that occurs off the south east coast of florida during the months of February and March. Blacktip sharks gather off Palm Beach and Broward counties for these two months before making their annual trip up the eastern seaboard of the United States. during these two months tens of thousands of sharks will temporarily congregate along the beaches in populous cities such as, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Boca Raton.
While the black tip sharks are combing the beaches of South Florida they are very hungry, and in search of food before they migrate North. Therefore, this time of year means the sharks will be very hungry and will rarely shy a way from any bait placed before them.
For this blacktip migration, we teamed up with local videographer, Erikson Corbin, and local fisherman, Ben Miscavage; to document, fish, tag, and release blacktip sharks.
